1989 Papaioea model

Commissioned by the Manawatu Art Gallery for a large sculpture to be made outside the gallery funded by the Gertrude Raikes bequest in 1989. This model was submitted as part of a competition. It was unsuccessful and never built. Two years later the large Pacific Monarch, 1992 was made instead.
