The Arrivals was first sold to the Dunedin Police station. Another of the edition went to Rangi Ruru school in Christchurch.

The work acknowledges the arrival of the major groups to Aotearoa, the ideas and motifs based around New Zealand often points of irony, insite and humour are … here. The impending transformation of south Pacific islands into a series of sheep stations is depicted with the arrival of the colonial settlers. The koru represents the earlier arrival of the Maori. The mermaid is the carrier of the group and is a symbol of the oceans. The rabbit, itself a most successful immigrant, while not being part of the myth seeks to make sense of the situation as it looks into a burrow or seashell (the rabbit as a land-based animal was thought to be a symbol of bad luck by sea farers, who were dubious about going to sea after such sightings)
